    1890 (4 Dec) cover from Kyneton (Vic) to Murrumburrah with 2d Stamp Duty, redirected on arrival to Wallenbeen and with manuscript '2d To Pay' for redirection fee. Reverse showing evidence of affixing of docket for the collection of the postage due, which once collected was removed and forwarded to the Accountant at the G.P.O. An interesting cover illustrative of the system used prior to the introduction of postage due adhesives

The marginal letters watermark 'TRA' indicate a right-side position under Stamp 10/10, and this stamp is the proving piece for this monogram position.     1909-10 Watermark Crown over Double-lined A Thick Paper £1 Rose-red and Green CA monogram pair from left corner of sheet, very fine with large part OG and lightly hinged. The only known positional monogram pair, only one other CA monogram (a single) being recorded. A major rarity amongst Australian Commonwealth monograms, and an extremely important postage due piece.     1909-10 Watermark Crown over Double-lined A Thick Paper 2d Rose-red and Green Die II Perf 11 cancelled by indelible pencil, couple of short perfs at base, otherwise fine. Only two examples of this stamp are known, the other being unused without gum; this example was discovered in 1988. One of the key stamps for a complete collection of Australian Commonwealth stamps, and the first time an example has been offered for sale for many years. Illustrated in the BW catalogue on page 79, and with 1988 RPSL Certificate. BW D82 cat AU$22,500, SG D74a, cat £10,000

A very fine solo ½d usage, this stamp being unpriced as such by BW
