We were delighted to continue the annual "Rarities Sale" concept, re-introduced to the Australian auction calendar by us in 2002. The 2003 Rarities Sale comprised 300 lots of exceptional quality, featuring a superb range of Australian Commonwealth, including the unique Third Watermark £2 Kangaroo T.S. Harrison imprint block of four punctured OS, selected King George V heads, modern errors and Postage Dues. Australian Colonies included the South Australia Long Type handpainted Essay and outstanding Tasmanian pre-stamp and stampless entires. Highlights of the British Commonwealth and Foreign sections were Fiji, Mauritius, New Guinea and Papua.
