General Sale No. 25 commenced with Collections and Accumulations; Literature, with the Peter Jaffé library; and Australian and foreign Coins, featuring various RAM issues and Gold proofs, and highlighted by an Australia 1930 Penny. In the stamps section, Rest of the World featured an important offering of New Zealand, with over 150 lots including a fabulous group of missing colours, overprint, perforation and offset varieties; useful high-value Arms; and a good range of Postal History.
Australian Colonies, featuring the collection of the late Neil Archbold, included a marvellous range of REPRINT and SPECIMEN stamps; also better singles, multiples and postal history for each Colony, in particular South Australia and Victoria. Australian Commonwealth included Kangaroos to £2, KGV varieties and imprints, and Postal Stationery with a fine lot of Registered Envelopes including Proofs. |
