On thick paper, being the wrapping paper which enclosed and protected the Master Plate itself, overwritten '283' which identified this plate in the firm's ledger. Discoloured, nevertheless a unique piece (folded size 74 x 63mm)

Brinstead/6043 I.Y. Scouts/Pretoria'. Peripheral cover faults, however a fine Boer War cover showing the rare use of postage stamps in lieu of postage due adhesives

    1909-10 Watermark Crown over Double-lined A Thick Paper 1d Rose-red and Green Die II Perf 11 mint with part OG, well centred and of fine appearance. While the least rare of the three perf 11 stamps of this series, the 1d is still a major rarity with only a handful of stamps recorded, it is rarely seen offered for sale and when it is, many stamps turn out to be the common thin paper version.
