    Lot 527
    Estimate: $700

Pale Blue very large margins all round, cancelled ‘NSW’ in concentric ovals. Surface abrasion in top margin clear of design, nevertheless an exceptional example. Ex ‘Manwood’, with 1955 BPA Certificate

Pale Blue small margins three sides and wide at top, cancelled ‘NSW’ in concentric ovals. Extremely fine ex Butterwick and ‘Manwood’, with 1926 RPSL Certificate

    Lot 529
    Estimate: $2,000

Pale Blue horizontal pair with close to good margins, just touched top right and lower left, tied to small piece by Sydney duplexes of SP 1 1859. A fine and very rare multiple ex Hutson and ‘Manwood’, and illustrated in Hutson’s The Stamps of New South Wales on page 34. With 1953 RPSL Certificate. SG 118, Cat. £1500+

    Lot 530
    Estimate: $6,000

Pale Blue horizontal pair pos. [109-110], both showing retouches to bottom frame, large margins in places, just into at right and top, cancelled ray type ‘66’ of Singleton. Very few examples of these two retouches are recorded, and this pair showing both is unique, ex Hutson and ‘Manwood’, and illustrated in Hutson’s The Stamps of New South Wales on page 34. Arguably the most important 2d lithograph piece extant. SG 118a, Cat. £5000+

    Lot 531
    Estimate: $2,000

Pale Blue with clear to small margins all round cancelled ‘NSW’ in concentric ovals on 1859 (13 Aug) O.H.M.S. outer from Sydney to ‘Camp near Gloucester’, with Sydney despatch ds and Raymond Terrace and Stroud (AU 16 1859) ds on reverse. Light horizontal crease along top barely affects the adhesive, and with mss notations on face and peripheral staining, but a very rare use of this stamp on cover. Only about eight 2d litho covers are recorded, of which this is the earliest known use, ex Slade Slade
