    Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $380

    1887 (22 Feb) cover from Bury St. Edmonds with G.B. 4d Jubilee tied by duplex, overweight and thus underpaid 4d, with handstruck 'T', 8d Postage due affixed on arrival representing double deficiency, and tied by Trinidad cds, MR 11 87. Very minor peripheral staining, otherwise a fine ad early usage of this rare value

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1887 (Aug) cover from Germany with 5pf and 10pf tied by Dahme cds, and eventually returned after several attempts to deliver. Underpaid with boxed 'T', and with 3d Postage Due tied by Trinidad cds. With two different manuscript 'Not known', unframed 'UNCLAIMED', framed 'Inconnu/Not Known' in violet and framed 'Retour'. A scarce and attractive franking, ex Sir John Marriott

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1888 (Nov) stampless cover from Leipzig, Germany with framed 'T.' and 8d Postage Due (left marginal) affixed on arrival and tied by Trinidad cds NO 30 88. Undeliverable, and with framed 'NOT KNOWN', straight-line 'UNCLAIMED' and framed 'Retour', plus boxed 'Non Reclame/Not called for.' in violet on reverse. Two vertical creases, otherwise fine and a spectacular use of this rare value, ex Ramkissoon

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1892 (25 Apr) German 5pf postal card cancelled Dusseldorf cds, manuscript 'T6¼' and with framed 'T.', on arrival a 1d Postage due was affixed and tied by Port-of-Spain cds, JU 6 92, good appearance

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1892 (2 Oct) stampless cover from Budapest, Hungary, with handstruck 'T' and '10', 2d Postage due affixed on arrival and tied by Port-of-Spain cds. The cover was undeliverable, and has straight-line 'UNCLAIMED', boxed 'Non Reclame/Not called for.' in violet and framed 'RETOUR'. Some overall soiling on front and back, ex Ramkissoon

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1892 (16 July) stampless cover from Elberfeld, Germany, with boxed 'T.', 5d Postage Due affixed on arrival for double 2½d U.P.U. rate, tied by Port-of-Spain cds, AU 2 93. Manuscript 'Refused by Mr Holler' on reverse, and returned to sender, with straight-line 'UNCLAIMED' and boxed 'Retour' (smudged). Also 1904 (29 Jan) cover from Meriden, Connecticut with U.S. 5c, smudged tax marking and 5d Postage due affixed and tied by poor Port-of-Spain cds, FE 21 04. Envelope with some discolouration, and pinholes at left. With Lasse Nielsen Certificate (2003)

    Postage Dues: 1885 issue used on cover 1899 (2 Oct) inland cover (slightly shortened at left) from Blanchisseuse to Toco posted without stamps and with 1d Postage Due pair added prior to despatch and cancelled with Blanchisseuse cds; 1902 (Dec) cover (vertical fold) from Port-of-Spain to Toco with ½d pair, with handstruck 'T' in circle over which a 2d Postage due has been affixed and cancelled by Port-of-Spain cds. Also 1940 (23 Sep) wrapper from Siparia to Palo Seco with 1c, handstruck 'T' in circle, and with Third Issue 1d postage due affixed and tied by Palo Seco cds (3 covers)

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1899 (22 Nov) British Guiana 2c stationery envelope from Georgetown to Tobago, readdressed to Trinidad with manuscript 'try Toco Trinidad', with Tobago cds (NO 30 99), and 1d pair and single Postage Dues affixed tied by Toco cds (AP 21 00). Some slight discolouration around postage dues, otherwise fine and ex Sir John Marriott

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1900 (24 Mar) cover from France with 15c, thus 10c underpaid and with 'T' in inverted triangle. On arrival a 2d Postage Due was affixed representing double deficiency, and tied by Port-of Spain cds, AP 17 1900. A little ragged along top of envelope, otherwise fine

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1901 Netherlands Indies picture postcard with 5c cancelled boxed 'EMMA HAVEN' ship marking in blue, with handstruck 'T' and 1d Postage Due affixed on arrival and tied by Port-of-Spain cds, AU 23 1901. Fine and an unusual origin

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1903 (Jun) cover from Venezuela with Estado Guyana 25c pair cancelled Ciudad Bolivar duplex in red, manuscript pencil '1/3 to pay', and with 3d and 1/- Postage dues affixed on arrival tied by unclear Port-of-Spain cds Attractive, the 1/- value is rare on cover

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1903 (20 Jun) registered cover from Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela with Estado Guyana 25c (2) and 1b cancelled duplex in red, and with boxed 'VENEZUELA/R/No.' in red. Endorsed via Demerara, on arrival 2d, 5d and 1/- Postage Dues were affixed and tied by Port-of-Spain cds, JU 26 03. Horizontal and vertical folds affect one 25c and the 5d due, otherwise very attractive and perhaps the most spectacular of all first issue covers. Ex Ramkissoon

    Postage Dues 1885 issue on cover: 1909 26 Jun) back of an envelope from Grenada with 4d bisected diagonally and with manuscript '2d' added in red ink, tied by 'POOLE/TRINIDAD' cds. The only recorded example, and it should be noted that no example of a whole 4d stamp has been recorded on cover. Ex Sir John Marriott

    Postage Dues: 1905-06 Watermark Multiple Crown CA group of usages, with 1906-16 covers from U.S.A. (x 6) with 1d, 1d strip of 3 or 3d (x 4) Postage Dues affixed, four undeliverable and returned to sender and marked 'UNCLAIMED', 1906 picture postcard from Germany with 5pf, and 1d due affixed, and 1906 stampless cover from France with 1d and 2d pair dues affixed. Some cover faults but a scarce group (8 covers)
