    Lot 82
    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $950

    A large collection in album of more modern cards, 1930s to 1960s, with both Sydney and country areas well-represented, with street and building views as well as outdoor scenery, a number of humorous cards are also present. Strength is in real photo cards, with a number of different series, noted many 'Rose' and Murray' cards. A proportion are used, mostly under cover, and some have small faults and blemishes, but the large majority are very good to fine (approx 420)

        

    Lot 83
    Estimate: $120 Realised Price : $230

    Post Offices: Group of post office illustrations on postcards (early 1900s to 1950s), mostly real photos, smaller offices represented include Singleton, Comboyne, Wauchope, Murwillumbah, Walgett, Candelo, Temora, West Wyalong, Jenolan Caves, Murrurundi, Quimbone. A number of cards are used, and some with faults, but condition generally good (55)

       

    Lot 84
    Estimate: $140 Realised Price : $105

    Bathurst: Good collection in album, 1900s to 1930s, wide range of street scenes and public buildings, a very comprehensive coverage of this town. Including a number of real photo types, and with many different publishers represented. Also a few more modern photographic booklets. There are many used cards, and the usual small faults and blemishes, but the majority of the cards are good to fine (approx 115)

       

    Lot 85
    Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $300

    Blue Mountains: A large accumulation in two albums, mostly early types up to the 1930s, with very good representations of all the subjects to be expected - Wentworth, Katoomba, Leura, Blackheath, etc. and their associated tourist attractions, with some mild duplication. Many different publishers and series are represented, including real photo types. There are many used cards and a number have small faults and blemishes, but the majority are in good to very fine condition (approx 430)

         

    Lot 86
    Estimate: $220 Realised Price : $240

    Blue Mountains: A further selection in an album, 1900s to 1930s, largely centred around Katoomba (both the town and its scenic attractions) and views of the Three Sisters. A few more modern cards are also included. A number of cards are used and there are some with faults, but most are good to very fine (approx 220)

        

    Lot 87
    Estimate: $150 Realised Price : $190

    Broken Hill: A fine group in album (mostly early 1900s) with good representations of the town, with public buildings and street scenes, plus many views of the mining operations. Some real photo types are included, and there are also a few modern photographic booklets and a couple of Broken Hill covers. Many cards are used and have small faults and blemishes, but the majority are in good to fine condition. A fine lot of this important locality (approx 80)

       

    Lot 88
    Estimate: $60 Realised Price : $46

    Grafton: Two real photo cards, one captioned 'Fire at Grafton May 27th 1908', the other 'Spectators Grafton Fire May 26 1908'. The latter would appear to be a date error, as the fire broke out on the night of 27th May, destroying Weiley's Market Hotel and several adjacent shops in Prince Street. Both cards are used from Grafton on 1 June and 30 June 1908 to Sydney. Few bent corners and blemishes but a scarce pair (2)

     

    Lot 89
    Estimate: $200 Realised Price : $575

    Jenolan Caves: Collection of 1900s to 1930s cards in album, mostly of the cave system, but also a few of the town itself. A number of different series are represented included many 'Kerry' cards, including Series 77 (Lucas Cave) set of 12 in original envelope, a few real photo types, and there is one Esperanto card. Some duplication, and there is a handful of modern cards. A small number are used, and some with small faults but the majority are fine to very fine (approx 160)

       

    Lot 90
    Estimate: $60 Realised Price : $46

    Kurri Kurri: Two cards published by T. Dimmock, Maitland (1905) featuring the Stanford Merthyr Colliery disaster of October 1905, one showing the explosion, and the other the fire. The explosion fortunately occurred when no miners were underground, however six mining officials were killed ,and there were nine other serious injuries. Both are fine and addressed to Tenterfield, sent under cover (2)

     

    Lot 91
    Estimate: $60 Realised Price : $46

    Murwillumbah: Two cards featuring the Murwillumbah fire which occurred on 15th September 1907 ('Red Sunday'), one showing the view from Church Hill with the ruins of the Post Office and Bank (used from Byron Bay to Sydney), the other showing spectators in the street after the fire. The fire began in Edward Dainer's bakehouse and quickly spread, eventually over 60 premises were destroyed. Both cards with small faults, but scarce (2)

     

    Lot 92
    Estimate: $75 Realised Price : $60

    National Park: Small collection in album of early 1900s cards featuring the National Park (now Royal National Park), a number of different publishers are represented, and the views include a couple that were later used for the Commonwealth Scenic Lettercards. Some cards are used and there are some with small faults, many are good to fine (58)

       

    Lot 93
    Estimate: $350 Realised Price : $1,350

    North Coast: A large group in album, 1900s to 1930s, with good representations of Hawkesbury River, Newcastle, West Maitland, Taree, Port Macquarie, Coff's Harbour, Grafton, Lismore, Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads, and smaller number of most of the other towns in between. A large number of real photo types are present, and a wide range of publishers and layouts are included. A proportion of the cards are used, and there are a number with faults and blemishes, but the general condition is good to fine (approx 350)

        

    Lot 94
    Estimate: $75 Realised Price : $60

    Mount Kosciusko: New South Wales Government Tourist Bureau - Kosciusko Series of eight cards in sepia (7) or black and white, all but one used and five franked with NSW ½d pairs affixed diagonally across the upper left corner and with handwritten inscriptions on the picture side. Few with blemishes but attractive and a scarce group (8)

      

    Lot 95
    Estimate: $50 Realised Price : $38

    North Sydney: 1906 North Sydney Tornado sepia photographic card entitled 'Ruins - Mrs Buller's Cottage' used from Sydney to Melbourne 17 May 1906, small corner defect otherwise fine and scarce. The North Sydney Tornado struck on 27 March 1906, causing considerable damage to houses, killing one person and injuring another 100.

    Estimate: $100 Realised Price : $210

    Parramatta River and Parramatta Road Suburbs: range of cards in album, mostly early 1900s with a number of different series and publishers represented, a few real photo types, also a few cards from other Sydney suburbs. A proportion are used, some with small faults and other blemishes, but many are good to fine (106)

       

    Lot 97
    Estimate: $220 Realised Price : $360

    South Coast: Fine collection in album, early 1900s to 1930s, good representation of Stanwell Park, Bulli Pass, Wollongong, Kiama, Nowra, and lesser numbers of many smaller locations. Views of both the towns and the coastal scenery are included. Many different publishers and layouts are present, as well as a number of real photo types. Some are used, and there are small faults and blemishes noted, but there are also many cards in good to fine condition (approx 180)

        

    Lot 98
    Estimate: $350 Realised Price : $950

    The South West and Riverina: An extensive collection in album, early 1900s to 1930s, with good representations of many towns including Camden, Thirlmere, Bowral, Bundanoon, Goulburn, Yass, Gundagai, Tumut, Cowra, Young, Junee, Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin, Albury, and the Snowy Mountains including Mt. Kosciusko. Many different publishers and layouts are present, including 'Rose' and 'Valentine' real photo types. A proportion are used, and the usual small faults and blemishes are also seen on some cards. A very fine lot (approx 325)

         

    Lot 99
    Estimate: $250 Realised Price : $190

    Sydney: 1900s-1930s large accumulation in postcard album with emphasis on city streets and buildings, some additional content including Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour, Coogee and Manly Beaches, North Sydney Suspension Bridge, and White City. Many different types and publishers, with a fine coverage of the development of the city over the period. A significant portion are used, condition variable but the majority are good to fine (approx 220)

    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $340

    Sydney: 1900s-1920s large and comprehensive accumulation in postcard album featuring city streets and buildings, many different types including unusual embossed set of 6 landmark buildings. A proportion are used, some with faults but many are fine to very fine (approx 330)

         

    Lot 101
    Estimate: $250 Realised Price : $190

    Sydney: Extensive collection in album, focussing on the Botanic Gardens, Domain and Centennial Park, plus the National Park (now Royal National Park) south of Sydney. Many different publishers and layouts of the subjects are noted, with many different presentations of the same views. A proportion are used, and the usual small faults and blemishes are present on some, but the general condition is good to fine (approx 275)

    Estimate: $80

    Sydney: 1900s-1930s collection in album of cards featuring Churches and other religious subjects, many views of St. Mary's and St. Andrew's Cathedrals, few real photo types, also a few suburban churches. A proportion are used, some with small faults and blemishes, many are fine (97)

       

    Lot 103
    Estimate: $80 Realised Price : $115

    Sydney: Collection of cards featuring Sydney Heads in small album, includes a number of artist cards, real photo types and many others over period 1900s-1930s; also a few cards showing general views of Sydney Harbour. A proportion are used, some with blemishes or other small faults, but many are good to fine. A comprehensive group (71)

       

    Lot 104
    Estimate: $350 Realised Price : $525

    Sydney: Large collection in album of 1900s to 1930s cards featuring various views of Sydney Harbour and its environs, with some artist cards, good representations of yachts and shipping on the Harbour, Circular Quay, Watson's Bay, Rose Bay, Woolloomooloo, Lavender Bay, and Neutral Bay. Many different publishers and layouts are represented including real photo types. A significant quantity are used, and inevitably a number of cards have faults of various sorts, but the majority are good to fine. (approx 330)

    Sydney: 1900s to 1930s collection of cards featuring Sydney beaches, with good representation of Bondi, Coogee, smaller selections of Bronte and La Perouse, and northern beaches. Many different publishers represented, with a few real photo types. A proportion are used, and a number of cards with small faults and blemishes, but there are many in good to fine condition (163)

    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $500

    Sydney: Large collection in album of 1900s to 1930s cards featuring views of Middle Harbour and Lane Cove River and its environs, with good representation of Mosman, Cremorne, The Spit, Fig Tree, and George's River, with many views of bridges, and boating. Many different publishers and layouts are represented, with a good showing of real photo types. A significant proportion are used, and there are the usual small faults and blemishes, but many cards are good to fine (approx 300)

        

    Lot 107
    Estimate: $260 Realised Price : $575

    The West and North West: An extensive collection in album, 1900s to 1930s, with good representations of Lithgow, Orange, Dubbo, Cobar, Bourke, Mudgee, Armidale, Inverell, Tamworth, Tenterfield, as well as many smaller towns. Many different publishers and layouts are represented, including real photo types. A proportion are used and the usual small faults and blemishes are present on some cards, but the general condition of most cards is good to fine. A good lot (approx 225)
