1911 Stamp Design Competition Essays submitted by E.T. Luke, four different colours with simulated perforations, King George V and Cockatoo designs, each in Blue, Violet, Green and Claret (Red), the latter inscribed 'ONE PENNY'. The design within oval surround of lyrebird s tail, over boomerang and platypus, 'AUSTRALIA' inscribed at base. These eight essays individually affixed to thick card (227x46mm) and endorsed at base 'Pigmented Bichromate', BW E112(i)A,C,D and E112(ii)F for Cockatoo, similar to BW E115(i) and (ii) for King George V. Unique assembly
