    1851-52 1d Carmine Laureate on Thick Yellowish Paper horizontal pair, close to good margins all round showing portion of adjoining units at top, tied by '64' numeral on 1852 (25 Mar) outer from West Maitland to Merriwa, oval despatch datestamp on reverse. Very fine and scarce

    1852-53 6d Plate I Laureate exceptional quality selection, all with four clear margins, comprising Vandyke Brown cancelled '29' (Broulee, rated RR), Yellow-brown cancelled very light '5' (Gosford, rated RR), Chocolate-brown, and Grey-brown (2, cancelled reversed '9' (Bathurst) and Sydney barred obliterator). A very difficult group to assemble. SG 73-76, cat £1125 (5)

    1852-53 6d Grey-brown Laureate Plate I, just touched at top and slightly cut into at lower left, portion of adjoining stamp showing at right, tied by barred obliterator on 1853 (10 Jan) outer from Sydney to London, endorsed 'p Kate'. Double ship letter rate, with 2 x 8d due from addressee, despatch and arrival backstamps. A very fine solo franking of this difficult stamp
