    Envelopes: 1869-85 2d Pink Embossed Oval envelopes, fine range of the various issues, both post office and STO, various paper stocks, flap types and tresses, six are used comprising two 1876 usages from Geelong to New Zealand, and four 'David Hill' covers, one on blue stock. A fine basis for a detailed study of these interesting envelopes, condition generally fine to very fine, many ex Linfield (26)

    Envelopes: 1885-86 2d Naish Design collection of post office and STO issues, showing the various sizes and paper stocks and with a wide variety of shades varying from pale lilac to red-violet, two are used on blue stock by David Hill from Winchelsea and Nagambie. Also 1d Green Fergusson & Mitchell design STO on white (3) and blue (3) stocks, four with colourless embossed 'STANLEY GIBBONS & CO./PHILATELIC PUBLISHERS/LONDON', one used at Geelong (crease and some foxing) by DENNYS,LASCELLES, AUSTIN & CO.'     Envelopes: 1887-1901 range of 1d and 2d Embossed Oval 'STAMP DUTY' types, both post office and STO issues with a variety of paper stocks, sizes and shades, with 2d Violet (12, three used), 1d Green (3, one used), 1d Brown (7, one uprated with 5d for 1891 use to U.S.A., another uprated with ½d (3) for 1894 use to Denmark), 1d Brown + 1d Brown (3, two used), and 2d Red (5), most are very fine and an good lot (30)

    Envelopes: 2d Pale Violet envelope STO (139mm x 80mm, Stieg KB9) with 'Congregational/Union/&/Mission/of Victoria' on flap, two examples used to Boston, one uprated with 4d Red Naish Stamp Duty used 1888 (17 Apr) (some toning), other uprated with 1d Yellow-green Stamp Duty strip of 4 used 1887 (29 Dec) (2)

    Envelopes: 1887 Emergency Printing using the Naish Stamp Duty Design (Stieg KB10a, H&H KB10a), on white paper with embossing on flap, and on blue paper without embossing, fine unused ex Linfield. It is believed that no used examples are recorded. Styieg cat US$300 (2)

    Envelopes: 1892 2d 'STAMP DUTY' Embossed Oval (Stieg KB12, H&G KB14) Carmine shade used 1892 (30 Dec) Melbourne to Clarendon, with boxed 'INSUFFICIENTLY/ADDRESSED' and 'NOT KNOWN BY/LETTER CARRIERS/RICHMOND', and Vermilion shade used 1893 (8 Mar) Melbourne to Koo-W wee-Rup, with boxed 'UNCLAIMED AT/KOO WEE RUP', both fine with Dead Letter Office cds on reverse (2)

    Official Envelopes: 1d Rosine with 'OS' in dots on grey stock for Education Department, typical late use from Traralgon 21 FE 23 and thus underpaid for 1d letter rate, and with oval 'T1D' handstamp, fine

Arms on flap, for use by Head of Department, white envelope with minor peripheral toning, scarce. Also printed frank in blue on piece (3)

    Frank Stamps: POSTMASTER-GENERAL printed in black on OHMS laid batonne envelope (133mm x 105mm) used from Melbourne to Sydney 1898 (11 Feb), 'FEDERAL CONVENTION,/PARLIAMENT HOUSE MELBOURNE.' Imprint at lower left, and 'FEDERAL CONVENTION/Arms/VICTORIA' crest on flap. Some staining on reverse but very scarce
