    Lot 205
    Estimate: $400T Realised Price : $320

    1869 (10 November) cover to London with 6d Bright Pale Blue Perf 11½-12½ x Roulette (SG 56) and 4d Dull Purple Perf 11½-12½ (SG 70) tied by 'G.P.O. ADELAIDE' cds, and with London Paid arrival cds in red. Portion of back flap missing, otherwise fine and a scarce mixed issue franking for the Via Marseilles rate

     

    Lot 206

    1876 (15 Jun) entire to Huddersfield, Yorkshire with 2d Orange Perf 10 pair and single and 6d Indigo (cut from another cover but clearly belonging) tied by Hahndorf cds, endorsed 'Via Brindsia' (sic) and reverse with Adelaide transit and Huddersfield arrival datestamps. A 1d overpayment of the 9d via Brindisi rate. Some toning, especially around perfs on adhesives

    Estimate: $250T Realised Price : $190

    1876 (1 Dec) entire to Huddersfield, Yorkshire with 2d Orange Perf 10 (cut from another cover but clearly belonging) and 6d Bright Blue tied by Hahndorf cds, endorsed 'Via Brindisi', reverse with Adelaide transit cds and Huddersfield arrival cds, JA 14 77, fine

    Estimate: $350 Realised Price : $320

    1889 (11 Nov) 1d Violet postcard uprated with 2d Orange Perf 10 and tied by Ship Mail room duplexes, addressed to Haarlem, Holland, with arrival cds and postman route 'A20' handstamp. There were no arrangements between South Australia and overseas postal administrations for the acceptance of postcards, which had to be sent at letter rate. This uprating to 3d was accepted but incorrect, as the rate should be 6d

     

    Lot 209
    Estimate: $30

    1892 (31 May) uprated use of France 15c lettercard to F.W. Wheatley, Way College, Unley, from a cousin (initials only) at Montpellier, message includes '. . . the flags & song of Australia have arrived . . . ', backstamped GPO Adelaide and Unley
