Die Proofs on thick card comprising 1d in Deep Scarlet (55 x 70mm), 2d in Deep Blue (57 x 77mm), 3d in Bright Green (58 x 73mm), 5d in Violet (70 x 57mm), 8d in Red-brown (68 x 52mm) and 1/- in Rose-Carmine (55 x 69mm), occasional minor surface marks, otherwise superb Said to have been pulled by De La Rue for the 1867 Paris Exhibition (or perhaps the 1872 South Kensington Exhibition), it has been stated that three sets of proofs were pulled. The set offered here is from the Dr W.R.D.
