1917 (14 Nov) picture postcard (Tower of Yedi Koule at Salonica) addressed to Sydney with Army Post Office cds, and octagonal 'PASSED BY CENSOR/crown/No./113' in red-purple. Australian forces did not participate in the Salonica campaign, launched on October 2015 to prevent occupation of Serbia and assist Greece. However, several contingents of Australian nurses were despatched in 1917 to help in the British hospitals. This card is from one of those nurses. Scarce and ex Emery   | ||
