Welcome to our 80th sale, which was an online auction only, comprising 1,433 lots featuring a wide range of Australasian and All-World material.
There are over 700 lots of Australian Colonies, highlighted by the exceptional collection formed by the late Jock Fraser over the last 50 years, concentrating on used stamps and covers, and noteworthy for the exceptional quality of the material. New South Wales includes many fine Sydney Views, Laureates and Diadems, complemented by a good range of postal history. The Chalon issues of Queensland are equally well-represented, including rare perforations and a fine range of covers. The Bradbury, Wilkinson high values include many fine stamps and individual rarities, and the later Sideface issues are very fine. There is a wonderful study of the Moreton Bay District, the various numeral obliterators shown in the finest quality, and a wonderful group of covers. Tasmania is a smaller collection, but the imperforate issues are again highlighted by stamps in the finest condition, and the small range of covers includes an 1823 entire with a fine strike of the very rare circular ‘LAUNCESTON’.
From other vendors are very fine groups of the New South Wales and Victorian Postage Dues, and fine studies of Tasmanian official stationery, ‘T’ and ‘OS’ punctures, the postal fiscals and private perfins.
Australian Commonwealth has a wide range of the George V issues, with a very fine 1d Deep Red Cooke Large Multiple Watermark, a good group of QEII and decimal die proofs, rare stamp booklets and exceptional Postage Dues with many rarities. Postal stationery has large groups of pictorial lettercards and registration envelopes.
The small All World section is highlighted by a fine range of India KEVII high values issues.
