This sale commenced with Collections and Accumulations, with New Zealand Dependencies, Barbados, St. Lucia/St. Vincent and Singapore featured. Another strong offering of Australian Colonies included Queensland and Western Australia revenues, Tasmania, and Victoria with fine Half-length and Queen-on-Throne issues, a £1 KEVII Die Proof and postal history.
Australian Commonwealth included Kangaroos to £2, an amazing lot of the Second Wmk 2/- Brown, and for the specialists, imprint blocks showing unlisted substitutions; King George V issues featured a nice selection of the 1d Red Die III, and other values with varieties and imprints in all watermarks; Decimal errors; Booklets included a 1911 2/- containing Victoria stamps and 1930 3/- Air Mail in superb condition; Postage Dues to 20/- and a good range of Third Wmk imprint blocks.
Rest of the World featured an unaccepted Scouting essay for Bahamas, French Post Offices in China, better Fiji, a Zeppelin flown postcard addressed to Australia, Great Britain QV 10/- and £1 values, New Guinea GRI overprints, New Zealand with a nice selection of Chalons through to decimal errors and varieties, and Officials including OPSO handstamps, Samoa and Hawaii ranges. |
