Our final sale for 2005 was our largest sale to date and as such contained a broad cross-section of material. The sale commenced with a range of collections and general accumulations, the majority being from a deceased estate. Rest of the World included strong sections of Aerophilately, France, Germany, Great Britain (with another fine selection of 1d Blacks), Hong Kong and Japan, better Malayan States, Nauru, New Guinea, New Zealand and Dependencies, Papua and fine Switzerland.
The Australian Colonies featured good ranges of stamps and postal history. Australian Commonwealth commenced with miscellaneous lots estimated from $50 to $1500; postal history featured rates and airmail services, including first flights and vignettes; Kangaroos with values to £2, including imprints and monograms; KGV with useful imprints; strong KGVI and QEII issues; Decimals with our usual fine offering of popular errors; and Postage Dues with values to £1 and numerous later imprint blocks. |
