Our first sale for the year featured a great range of Australian Colonies, with New South Wales Sydney View 1d and 3d reconstructions, and the 9d Commonwealth compound perf block, recently discovered and unique in private hands; Tasmania 4d Courier block of six; Victoria ultra high value Stamp Duties, and rarely offered Echuca Railway stamps; and Western Australia £1 in a commercially used block.
Australian Commonwealth included numerous high value Kangaroos in all watermarks; KGV heads with the C of A Wmk 1d green mint, overprinted OS and with watermark inverted; Pre-Decimal varieties, imprints and plate numbers; Decimal errors; fine Postage Dues; Postal Stationery with Specimens, rare PTPO and Official issues; and airmails, including a superb Ross Smith vignette.
Rest of the World was also well represented, with good ranges of listed plate flaws from Ascension and St Helena, superb Belgium stamps and covers, German Colonies and through to Zululand postal history - something for everyone. |
