    U.P.U. SPECIMENS, PACIFIC ISLANDS, NEW GUINEA

    Lot 56
    Estimate: $1,000 Realised Price : $3,800

    New Guinea: 1918-23 NWPI Single Wmk KGV 1d violet and 4d ultramarine, each CTO and additionally handstamped 'ULTRAMAR' in blue (the 4d with surface abrasion). Also 1915-16 ½d - £1 set, all Type B overprint, CTO only. A few abrasions (and tone spots on the £1), nevertheless very colourful (16)

     

    Lot 57
    Estimate: $2,000 Realised Price : $1,500

    New Guinea: 1925 Huts ½d to £1 (no 1½d) CTO and additionally handstamped 'COLONIAS' in blue. Some minor soiling, mainly around the perfs. Rare and most attractive (12)

     

    Lot 58
    Estimate: $1,500 Realised Price : $1,150

    New Guinea: 1931 Hut Airs ½d to £1 handstamped 'Especimen'. Some minor soiling and the 1d and 1/- damaged, still a rare and desirable group (13)

     

    Lot 59
    Estimate: $600

    New Guinea: 1934 2½d and 3½d Undated Birds, three of each value comprising normal, ovpt Air Mail and ovpt OS, all handstamped 'SPECIMEN' in green. Very fine (6)

     

    Lot 60
    Estimate: $200

    New Guinea: 1937 Coronation set handstamped 'SPECIMEN' in green. Soiling around the perfs of the three lower values, the 1/- fine (4)
