The reprint of the three denominations from the original die plate, prepared on the occasion of the visit in 1901 to the Australian Colonies by The Duke of Cornwall and York (later King George V). The 2d was defaced following damage incurred in the centre of the left frame, which led to the replacement of this design by the 1852 \\\'Queen-on-Throne\\\' issue. Six proofs were prepared, one of which is in The Royal Collection. The example on offer may be the only one which has not been reduced in size. Ex Collins, Harvey, Perry |
