Lot 240		Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $1,000 1886 Wmk Double-lined ‘1’ Perf 11½ 2/6d Dull Lake, 5/- Sage-Green and 10/- Salmon (5, including a block of 4) optd SPECIMEN Type 1 (17 x 2mm), usual Perf defects. A scarce group, part o.g. (7) The St. George and Dragon issue, first issued as duty stamps in 1863, were authorised for postal use from 1 November 1882. A small quantity was overprinted SPECIMEN in 1886 for exchange purposes
Lot 241		Estimate: $175 Realised Price : $105 1886 Reprint on Thin Unwatermarked Paper Imperforate 3d Yellow-Green optd ‘REPRINT’ (17 x 2½mm) inverted, and showing two pre-printing paper creases. The stamp has been affixed to card, and cut very close to touching at top and base. Rare The REPRINT overprint was applied in 1886 to the remainder of the 1879 reprint

(9) In 1901 remainders of the 1889 reprints were gummed, perforated and overprinted ‘REPRINT’ for inclusion in the presentation sets for Federal Parliamentarians
