    1862-65 No Wmk Surfaced Paper Perf 14 2d imperforate proof with diagonal manuscript ‘Specimen’, very rare. Ex Marcus Samuel. 2002 Ceremuga Certificate

    1862-65 Wmk Single-lined ‘1’ Perf 14 1d Dull Red optd Type D5, fine, part o.g. and very scarce. Ex Marcus Samuel

     

    Lot 8
    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $180

    1864-67 set of Type 1 overprints, comprising 1d Dull Red, 2d Blue, 4d Red-brown and 10d Lilac Wmk Single-lined Numerals Perf 13, plus the 1860-72 3d Diadem Wmk Double-lined ‘3’ Perf 13. Fine for these with part o.g. Also 1d envelope cut-out with same overprint (6)

    Approx 1600 of each value were prepared in 1870 and issued between December 1870 and March 1871

    1864-67 set of Type 1 overprints, comprising 1d Dull Red, 2d Blue, 4d Red-brown and 10d Lilac Wmk Single-lined Numerals Perf 13, plus the 1860-72 3d Diadem Wmk Double-lined ‘3’ Perf 13. Fair condition, part o.g. (5)

    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $230

    1864-67 1d, 4d and 10d in horizontal pairs optd Type 1. Very scarce multiples, fine large part o.g. (6)

     

    Lot 11
    Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $360

    1871-72 Wmk Crown over NSW (I) Perf 13x10 1d Salmon and 4d Red-brown, Perf 13 6d Mauve optd Type 4 and 9d on 10d Pale Red-brown optd Type 3. Also the 1860-72 5d Diadem Wmk Double-lined ‘5’ Perf 13 with Type 4. 6d unused, 1d, 4d, 5d and 9d on 10d part o.g. The 5d is very scarce (5)

    720 each of the 6d and 9d on 10d with Type 4 overprint were issued in March 1872. Small quantities of other values current at the time were also overprinted

     

    Lot 12
    Estimate: $400 Realised Price : $240

    1876 Wmk Crown over NSW (II) Perf 13 1/- Black optd Type 5 in red, and 1882-97 Wmk Crown over NSW (II) with Type 6 overprint, comprising 1d, 2d Perf 11x12, 4d, 10d Perf 10, and ‘OS’ optd. 1d, 2d, 4d Perf 11x12 and 6d, 1/- Perf 10. Mostly fine, the OS opts with part o.g. as prepared (10)

    1,200 of the 1/- with Type 5 overprint were issued in June 1876; 240 each of the Type 6 overprint were issued in November 1888
