    REST OF THE WORLD, PAKISTAN

    Lot 1133
    SOLD
    */O/C ]
    Estimate: $2,500 Realised Price : $4,000

    1947 'PAKISTAN' Overprints on India, a large bundle of album pages and mounted booklets with a bewildering array of the provisional handstamps created by local post offices after Partition from India, both mint and used with many multiples. Many different types are represented and in most cases allocated to their respective post offices, also a good range of the typewritten provisionals as well. A number of errors (inverted, double or omitted handstamps) were noted. Apart from the KGVI issues (Ordinary and Service) to 25r, there is good representation of the obsolete KGV stamps. About 50 covers and items of postal stationery are also included. A very impressive lot which as it stands could be converted into an excellent exhibit, or provide the basis for a much deeper study of the subject. A brief comparison of the materials with the priced catalogue by M. Arif Balgamwala published in 2000 revealed numerous stamps catalogued at 2000r and 3000r each (approx 2000)

    Lot 1134
    **/*/O ]
    Estimate: $500 Purchase Price : $443

    1947 'PAKISTAN' Overprints on India duplicated mint and (mostly) used range in stockbook with a wide variety of the locally-applied handstamps (both metal and rubber), many used stamps are on small pieces. Virtually all KGVI issues up to 10r, including multiples, a notable exception in the KGV 2a M booklet panes of 4 (2). No attempt has been made to allocate any stamps to their post offices of origin, and a number of scarce items may be lurking. The Nasik overprints are also included up to 25r Ordinary and 10r Service. A good lot (approx 600)

    Lot 1135
    SOLD
    **/*/O ]
    Estimate: $250 Realised Price : $190

    1947-c1970 largely mint collection on hagners and stock sheets, with 1947 Overprints to 25r M, also additional part set to 25r, and 2r and 5r U blocks of 4. Later issues appear complete with some duplication (not all different perfs and wmks are represented), Service issues are incomplete but include 1947 Overprint sets to 10r M and U. Early issues to 1952 are MLH, later issues MUH, a fine lot with high catalogue value (approx 650)
