    Estimate: $80 Realised Price : $125

    ½d Green used on 1913 (26 November) unsealed cover used within Melbourne, apparently not accepted for the unsealed rate and with oval 'T 1D' applied, and 1d Die II Watermark Crown over Double-lined A Thick Paper affixed and tied by 'PR BOX ROOM/MELBOURNE' cds. Cover with minor blemishes, otherwise fine

    ½d Green small group showing characteristics consistent with issue from coil machine, comprising a strip of 3 and pair both showing coil join, the strip MUH slightly toned gum, the pair fine with lower unit MUH, a further strip of 3 with top unit only mounted, and a used showing coil join adhering at top which shows portion of JBC monogram (an almost certain indication of genuineness). A fine group (9)

    ½d Green vertical pairs (2) from coil machine (characteristic cut perfs along vertical edges), one with top unit showing variety 'ROSTAGE' State 2 (BW 1(2)ea), the other with top unit showing variety 'Excess Colour in Bottom Right Corner' (BW 1(2)m). Both large part OG and fine (4), BW cat AU$275+

    Estimate: $150

    ½d Green showing characteristics of issue from a vending machine or affixing machine, with straight edge along right side outside perfs, and apparent double perfs at left, used with Tasmania 1912 1d on 2d Pictorial on 1919 (7 October) cover from Melbourne to Healesville. Back flap missing and a couple of minor blemishes, however as scarce combination usage

    1d Red Die I on 1913 (2 Jan) First Day Cover cancelled by 'REGISTERED/SYDNEY N.S.W.' cds with clear date, addressed to A.H. Pettifer (Secretary of The Sydney Philatelic Club). Only about a dozen First Day Covers recorded, this one without the Fred Hagen label affixed to reverse found on virtually all examples. Significant toning but rare. BW 2y, cat AU$15000

    1d Red Die II tied by Kilkenny S.A. squared circle ds to 1914 (Jun) advertising cover for J. Coumbe & Sons, illustration of agricultural machine on reverse, vertical creases not unduly detracting

    1d Red group showing characteristics consistent with issue from a coil machine (cut perfs or straight edges along vertical sides), comprising Die I strips of 4 MUH (2, one with significant tone spots on reverse) and strip of 3 (top unit only mounted), Die II strip of 3 (tone spot on middle unit), and Die IIA MUH pair with coil join (16)
