Postal History: 1841 (15 Jun) entire to Norfolk, England without postal markings and apparently carried within a cover written by brothers Thomas (?-1892) & Henry Carter at their property 'Gwambygine Farm' (near York and the earliest homestead built in Western Australia with restorations completed in 2011) to their sister Sarah. Fascinating account of pioneer life, recalling farming, business, clothing, food and a sketched floor plan of their property. The writers note "I assure you there are few settlers who have more calls than we have from all classes from the Govoner [sic] to the Labourer", "..you would be highly amused to see a parcel of natives at work. We have 8 or 9 today with their wives & children...." and "a steady domestic servant in the House....makes capable puddings and light dumplings which many who are not Norfolk enjoy very much". Clean and fine with a typed transcript included
