    1856 (15 Jun) cover from Melbourne to England bearing Imperf 6d Woodblocks (2, each with four margins, one close at top), tied by BN ‘1’, mss ‘per Australasian’ and backstamped Newark. A fine and attractive double rate cover

    Estimate: $90

    1888 (13 Aug) cover to Switzerland bearing 6d Pale Ultramarine, SG 318a, tied by '314' duplex of Lilydale, backstamps of Melbourne, Napoli, Locarno, Devio and straight-line arrival of Linescio, minor blemishes. Scarce village destination

    1896 (13 Apr) cover Sydney to Melbourne franked 2d Emu (3 inc a pair), underpaid and struck with the bold oval 'T 4D' with Victoria 4d Red & Green postage due affixed and tied by Melbourne PBR/GPO double ring. A clean and neat cover

    1897 (18 Jun) cover from Maidstone, GB to Melbourne (arrival cds at rear) franked ½d & 2d QV Jubilee issues, apparently underpaid and struck with the blank hexagonal 'T' and oval 'T5D' with 5d Red & Green due tied by Melbourne/PBR/GPO double ring. Minor peripheral faults though very attractive

    Selection of taxed postcards with Red & Green postage dues; comprising 1902 (27 Nov) from GB franked ½d KEVII to Melbourne with 1d & 2d, 1903 (22 Jan) from India franked ½a QV with 1d and 1905 (14 Jun) from Melbourne to Tallangatta (redirected to Elsternwick) with 2d, all manuscript cancelled and mostly fine (3)

    1905 (24 Jun) PPC franked GB ½d KEVII tied by Louth/Linc cds, underpaid and struck with 'T' in hexagon over 'L' and addressed to Auckland where NZ circular deficiency marking applied and subsequently redirected to Melbourne where 1d Red & Green due applied and unusually tied by oval 'G(eneral).D(elivery).R(oom) handstamp

    1912 (21 Mar) registered cover Rialto to Germany franked Victoria 2½d Tannenberg, South Australia ½d GPO & 2d Perkins Bacon & NSW 3d Diadem representing the ½oz. rate, late fee and registration fee. Printed Rialto registration label and cover struck with 'LATE FEE' marking in black. Few peripheral faults though a colourful cover representing legitimate use of stamps of two other States
