    Third state of dies: 1d Dull Red pair [5-28], SG 8a, full-margined, the [28] a substitution for [6] in lower right intermediate transfer group of 30, tied by Butterfly '1' to 1850 (12 Nov) cover Melbourne to Sydney, paying 2d Inland letter rate. Ex Purves, Perry

    Fourth state of dies - 'vertical drapes': 2d Pale Dull Brown, SG 17b, margins in places, with Barred Oval '9' of Muston’s Creek (later Caramut). Rated RRR

    Lithographed by Campbell & Fergusson: 3d Greenish Blue, Blue, Deep Blue and Indigo shades, SG 31 group, almost complete UNUSED reconstruction of 19 of the 24 units in an intermediate transfer group, mostly full-margined, odd small fault, thin, here and there, generally good to very fine.
