    1860-61 Imperforate Plate Proof of 3d in Blue, marginal strip of four on ungummed, no watermark paper. A rare and attractive multiple

    1860-61 "REGISTERED" (6d) Olive-Yellow Wmk Small Star Clean-cut Perf 14-15½, SG 11, with Rowland Hill handstamp 'CANC(ELLED)'. This is a new discovery being unit number 1 from the horizontal block of six originally cancelled, and thus not recorded by Jaffé. Few 'CANCELLED' stamps have ever been offered in Australia. An exceptional Queensland exhibition item

    1887-89 Imperforate Plate Proof of 2/- in Brown, marginal strip of five with printer's notes in margin, on ungummed watermarked 'Crown over Q' paper

    1892 (29 Jun) registered cover to Brisbane bearing Postal Fiscal 1/- Green tied by Toowong obliterator, handstamped 'REGISTERED/(T)OOWONG' in black, manuscript number, re-addressed to Sydney, with backstamps of 'TPO S&WR Up' Type #1b and Registered Letter Office of 1 July 1892. A rare and attractive usage

    1900 Charity set on cover used from Toowoomba to Greenmount (Qld) on 26 June, with arrival backstamp of the following day. Odd perf tone, otherwise fine

    1900 Charity set in CTO blocks of six (10 Sep 02), slight separations and creasing, the 1d (6d) also with sheet number '414' (inverted) in black at lower left (12). Provenance: Ex Australia Post Archival Sale

      

    Lot 29
    Estimate: $30,000T Realised Price : $23,000

    1902 Void Background, 6d Green 'FIGURES IN LOWER CORNERS' only, SG 230 (previously listed as a footnote). To be listed in the new Brusden-White Catalogue as BW Q38 and priced at AU$35000. An example sold for AU$29120 in 2002 and another (with a small tear) realised AU$34000 recently. This stamp has no faults, apart from minor perforation toning, and must be one of the best known examples
