    1d Orange-red and 1d Scarlet tied by ray type '36' numerals on 1861 (9 Mar) envelope from Braidwood to Sydney, showing despatch and arrival datestamps on reverse. Fine, and an unusual combination of two 1d printings

With mss '8' and handstruck '16/CENTS' accountancy marks, London transit d.s., and 5/N. YORK AM. PKT' d.s (MAY 28). A very scarce example of the 1/8d via Marseilles rate to U.S.A.
