    Imperforate plate proofs on unwatermarked wove paper in Bluish-green (top marginal, close at right, with non-contemporary gum) and Dull Green (bottom marginal), fine (2)

    Yellow-green with small margins, regummed and of fine appearance. Very scarce

    The three listed shades of Yellow-green, Bluish-green and Dull Green in horizontal pairs, the Bluish-green pair just touched at base otherwise all with close to good margins and a scarce trio (6)

    Yellow-green with margins all sides and showing portion of adjoining unit at right cancelled Sydney dumb obliterator (not tied) used on 1856 (28 Nov) envelope to Hobart, endorsed 'P Tasmania'. Sydney despatch datestamp on reverse and 'SHIP LETTER INWARDS FREE' boxed d.s. 4 DE 4 1857 in red. Envelope with small tear at top and some discolouration, but a difficult stamp on cover in this condition

    Estimate: $600 Realised Price : $460

    Yellow-green singles (2), both with margins good to clear, tied by dumb obliterators on 1857 (10 Apr) entire from the Augustine Heard correspondence to Hong Kong endorsed 'per R.M. Str "Columbian". Manuscript '4' on face and with Hong Kong arrival backstamp 22 MY 1857. Carried on the first homeward voyage of E&ARM packet "Columbian" and thence per P & O ship "Aden". Fine multiple franking of the 3d Diadem

     

    Lot 72
    Estimate: $600

    Dull Green horizontal strip of 4 with good to large margins except just cut into at left and first unit with ironed-out vertical crease, cancelled by dumb obliterator. A rare stamp in multiples of this size, ex 'Manwood'

     

    Lot 73
    Estimate: $2,000

    Dull Green with Error of Watermark 'Double-lined 2', margins three sides and cancelled by 'N.S.W.' in concentric ovals. One of the best available examples of this rare stamp, ex William Frazer
