    1854-60 Watermark Double-lined Numerals Imperf 1d Diadem Plate Proof lower marginal block of 20 in Red-brown on Blued, positions 65-68, 77-78, 89-92, 101-104, 113-116 showing distinct 'ivory heads' on reverse. The equal largest multiple remaining from the sheet which came into the market in 1843, and of superb appearance. Accompanied by a GB 1841 1d in a similar shade. Ex Ron Butler

    1854-60 Watermark Double-lined Numerals 1d Orange-vermilion Diadem block of four with experimental roulettes made by John Dutton in 1856, fine with large part OG (some roulettes at top reinforced). Accompanied by a 2-page signed letter from Dutton dated at Wooloomooloo, 3 November 1856, to the Postmaster-General (W.H. Christie) with a proposal to perforate stamps and enclosing a sample of his work. This block (ex Wiggins and 'Manwood') is believed to be the largest multiple of 1d roulettes now remaining from the block of 24 ex-Ginger

    1854-60 Diadems Watermark Double-lined Numerals Imperf 1d Orange-Red error 'Printed Both Sides' unused without gum showing strong misplaced impression on reverse, with black mark towards base. The only recorded unused example of this error of which a total of only three are recorded, one of the used examples being in the Royal Collection. Ex Hutson and 'Manwood', with 1932 RPSL Certificate

    1854-60 2d Diadem Plate Proof Sheet of 120 in Black on wove paper with holes punched in positions 11, 12, 24, 36, 73, 97, 104 & 105 to indicate where repairs were required. The reverse bears manuscript notation 'The perforated labels to be renewed as speedily as possibly' and signed and dated by Thomas Richards with a Treasury handstamp of the same day. Heavily creased in places though a unique and extraordinary Exhibition item. Ex Osborne and White. Illustrated in Volume IV of the Robson Lowe Encyclopaedia

    1856 2d Deep Turquoise-blue Plate I horizontal pair with close to large margins used on lettersheet to Sydney with 1856 (29 Sep) arrival backstamp. Endorsed 'P Shamrock' and cancelled on arrival with 'N.S.W.' piecrust obliterator. Interesting example of the double inland rate

    1856-60 Diadems Imperf 2d Blue Plate II strip of 3 (touched top and right) used on 1860 (12 Dec) cover from Sydney to Gladstone Qld, cancelled 'NSW' duplex, endorsed 'per Telegraph', reverse with Brisbane transit and Gladstone arrival (DE 22 60) datestamps. The Imperf 2d Plate II were only issued in Queensland, and this very rare use in New South Wales was possibly by a traveller writing home. A very significant cover from the Ginger, Gordon Kaye, 'Manwood' and Stevenson Collections

    1859 2d Pale Blue Lithographed (just touched at top left) used on 1859 (31 Aug) mourning envelope from Sydney to Newcastle, cancelled Sydney 'N.S.W.' in concentric ovals duplex and with SP 1 1859 arrival ds on reverse. Very rare with only about 6-8 lithographs recorded on cover, with 2002 BPA Certificate

Some minor toning in places, but a spectacular and important piece. From the Yardley, Ginger, Hutson and 'Manwood' collections

Few peripheral creases and some minor toning, but attractive and a very unusual use of two different printings of the 6d on the same cover
