    1854 Watermark Double-lined Numeral 3d Yellow-green Laureate Error 'Wmk Double-lined 2', clear margins top and right, just touching other two sides, cancelled Sydney barred obliterator. An excellent example of this rare stamp. SG 87b, cat £1800

    1854-1860s Diadem collection of forgeries mostly attributed to Spiro Brothers, including unfinished proof sheet of 8 and block of 4, stamps mostly used both imperf and perf with 5d (5), 6d (16), 8d (7), 1/- (18), 5/- Coin (20, including block of 8), etc. Variable condition, many fine to very fine with full margins. An interesting lot (94)

    1856-60 Diadems Watermark Double-lined Numerals Imperf 1d Orange-Red error 'Printed Both Sides' unused without gum showing strong misplaced impression on reverse, with black mark towards base. The only recorded unused example of this error of which a total of only three are recorded, one of the used examples being in the Royal Collection. Ex Hutson and 'Manwood', with 1932 RPSL Certificate

    1860-72 Diadems Perf 12 6d Violet unused without gum, typical somewhat ragged perfs (few short at top), toning of a few perfs on back. SG 148, cat £750

    1860-72 Diadems Watermark Double-lined Numerals Perf 13 1/- Carmine marginal block of four from the lower left corner of sheet with burelage in left margin. Large part OG, perforations at base reinforced and a diagonal crease at lower left affecting the third unit. Nevertheless an impressive multiple and possibly unique from this position. Ex Frazer

    1860-72 Diadems 1d Scarlet Perf 12 x 13 indistinctly cancelled, some gum staining of perfs along top, a good example of this very rare stamp missing from many of the best collections. SG 171, cat £2250

    1864 1d Pale Red Diadem Watermark Single-lined '1' range, with wmk upright M (3) and U (5, incl pair), wmk reversed M pair and single and U pair and single, wmk inverted U, and one no apparent wmk U. Mint with part gum, few with small faults. SG 195, cat £1430 (16)

    1864-65 1d De La Rue Watermark Single-lined '1' Perf 13, in Pale Red (2, one no gum with wmk upright, other large part OG with wmk inverted) and Brownish-red part toned OG with wmk reversed. Generally good appearance and an interesting trio. SG 195, 197, cat £345+ (3)

    1864-65 1d De La Rue Watermark Single-lined '1' Perf 13, in Dark Brown-red (2, one part OG, other no gum, both wmk inverted and with faults), Brownish-red no gum with wmk reversed, and Brick-red part OG wmk inverted but with horizontal crease. SG 196-198, cat £820+ (4)

    1882-97 Watermark Crown over NSW (II) 1d used group mounted on album page, comprising 1d Salmon Perf 10 and Perf 13 x 10, and 1d Orange-red Perf 10, Perf 10 x 13, Perf 12 x 10, Perf 11 x 10, Perf 12 x 11, Perf 11 x 12 (ex Hutson, unlisted), Perf 11, and Comb Perf 11 x 12. All fine and a good selection of some of the rarer perfs. SG cat £600+ (10)

    1894 'NSW' Watermark impression from the original Master Plate for the watermark manufactured by Edwin Amies & Sons Ltd. on thick paper, being the wrapping paper which enclosed and protected the Master Plate itself, overwritten '283' which identified this plate in the firm's ledger. Discoloured, nevertheless a unique piece (folded size 74 x 63mm)
