1916 cover (date unclear) from Melbourne with 1d Red KGV, addressed to Private Duffy No. 3306 of the 14th Battalion. Before delivery Private Duffy had been killed in action in France on 3 July 1916, and he was buried in the Bois Grenier Cemetery. The cover is struck with a boxed 'DECEASED' (45 x 10mm) and has mss RS 10/11/17, reverse with 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/BASE RECORDS MELB.' cds in red  | ||
