1915 (26 Jul) real photo postcard (portrait of Australian sergeant) addressed to Vancouver, Canada with '4TH AUST. INF/BDE/FIELD/P.O.' cds. (Type 1) light but readable strike dated 26 VII 15 - a new late date, Emery records usage only in May-June 1915 and suggests the datestamp was possibly lost due to enemy action. Boxed 'PASSED BY/crown/No. 2232/CENSOR' in pink, and Canada 2c War Tax stamp affixed on arrival and tied by Vancouver cds. Fine, and an unusual destination for Gallipoli Mail   | ||
