Lot 90		Estimate: $8,000 Realised Price : $13,500 1860-61 Wmk small Star Clean-cut Perf 14-15½, (6d) Registered, SG 11, showing line Wmk at left, with portion of "Rowland Hill" ‘CANCELLED’. Fine except for tone spot at top. Cat £9000. 2005 Ceremuga Certificate Six examples were prepared at the request of Ormond Hill in 1861, and presented to colleagues, including his uncle, Rowland Hill. Four examples of the (6d) Registered have been recorded from the horizontal block of six, of which this is No. 1; No. 4 is in the Royal Philatelic Collection. This stamp is a recent discovery subsequent to the publication of ‘Cancelled by Perkins Bacon’ by P. Jaffé (1998)
