    Estimate: $300 Realised Price : $460

    Japan: Extensive collection in album, early 1900s to 1920s, with a wide variety of street and rural scenes, a few are hand painted. A significant proportion of the cards are used with a variety of adhesives, some unaddressed, but also a quantity addressed to Australia, and a further group bear pictorial cancellations. Some with defects but the condition is generally good to fine. A lot of interest to the stamp collector as well as postcard enthusiast (approx 280)

    Japan: Collection in album, early 1900s to 1920s (few more recent), wide range of street and rural scenes, landmarks, some portraits and groups, largely coloured cards from various publishers. A proportion are used (including unaddressed cards with pictorial cancellations), most are in good to fine condition (approx 200)

    Japan: Extensive collection in two albums, early 1900s to 1950s, many different publishers including real photo types, and a wide variety of subjects including city and rural views, and a fine lot of geisha single and group portraits. A number of the early cards are cancelled with pictorial postmarks. A proportion (mostly in the early period) are used, and some with small defects and blemishes, but the general condition is good to fine. An excellent lot (approx 460)

    Estimate: $200 Purchase Price : $175

    Japan: A fine range of hand painted cards, the majority by the same artist featuring rural and mountain scenes (several of Mount Fuji?), all of very high quality with a number done in oil colours. Two cards are used, one under cover, and the other from Yokohama to Kent (date unclear) with 'Via SIBERIA' handstamp. Some cards with blemishes on reverse, however a very fine lot (24)
