    Fourth state of dies: 2d Lilac, SG 15a, full-margined, tied by Butterfly '1' to 1850 (28 Jun) entire letter (crease well clear of adhesive) Melbourne to Sydney where re-directed (note '2' fee for that purpose). A very rare shade on cover - the estimated printing was 6,000. Ex Perry

    Fourth state of dies: 2d Dull Brownish Lilac Retouched, SG 15e, Type [10] retouch affecting shading in upper right corner for a distance of 7mm extending down and including left portion of right frame, large void area lower right portion of stamp apparently caused by gum residue on surface of paper prior to printing. Unusual and spectacular, not noted elsewhere in Half-lengths. Ex Pack, Wawn, Perry

Campbell & Co: 3d Blue (shades), SG 24, complete reconstruction of an intermediate transfer group of 24 in matching pairs, [17] the primary retouch, [15-16] a rare 'abnormal' pair from base margin of sheet, generally very fine to superb. Virtually impossible to duplicate in this quality. Ex Perry

    Lithographed by Campbell & Fergusson: 1d Pink, Rose and Lilac-Rose shades, SG 28/b, study of the remarkable 'squeezed transfer' varieties which compressed the design (often dramatically) in various positions within the printing stone of 400. Mounted to exhibition-standard on original leaves, many outstanding items present including unused singles (3) and pair, used singles (21), pairs (4), blocks of three (2) and strip of four [ex Pack, Boker], mostly fine to very fine (44). An irreplaceable lot. Ex Perry
