    1824 (22 Sep) entire letter to London showing small oval-framed 'HOBART TOWN/V.D.L.' with step-type 'SHIP LETTER/DOVER' mainly fine in black on the flap, the earliest example listed by Campbell. Attractive. Ex Tinsley

    1838-53 entires/covers selection with 1838 crowned-oval 'HOBART TOWN/VDL', curved framed 'PAID' datestamp (2 types), large crowned-oval 'GENERAL POST OFFICE/HOBART TOWN/VDL', and Launceston datestamp, also showing Ship Letter handstamp of London (3) or Deal, mostly fine (5). Ex Tinsley

    1844-57 entires/covers selection with 'FREE' datestamp Campbell type 3 (22 Mar.44 - latest date listed), type 5 (two varieties - Jul.49 and Sep.54) and type 7 (in red - 22 Oct.57); also showing type 6a, and in black (31 Aug.85), other handstamp including boxed 'CAMPTOWN' datestamp in black, and 1885 Launceston duplex, also 1889 'Receipt for Road Rate' showing 'LAUNCESTON/FREE/TASMANIA' very fine datestamp, fine or better (6 items).     1854 (27 Mar) large part front bearing 1d Pale 'Greyish' Blue early state with very irregular margins three sides (cut-into at left and right top) locally used from Launceston, neatly tied by '59' handstamp and showing fine 'unpaid' time c.d.s., most unusual. Ex Sebastian Earl, Tinsley

    1854 (8 Sep) entire bearing 4d Orange intermediate state (cut-to-shape - slightly toned by gum) from Hobart to Riccarton near Campbell Town, tied by numeral '64' and showing 'CAMPTOWN' boxed datestamp adjacent. Ex Tinsley

    1858-69 entires (2, one with side flaps removed) and covers (2), two bearing 4d Orange and showing 'PRE-PAID' datestamp of Hobart (one also showing similar datestamp of Launceston on arrival), two bearing 1d adhesives for local-rate letters, showing boxed 'PRE-PAID/time' datestamp of Hobart for '4 O.CLOCK' and '1 O.CLOCK' (4 items).
