    1886-96 Wmk Crown SA Perf 10 10/-, 15/-, 50/-, £3 and £4 vertical pairs optd 'SPECIMEN (Type 4), all with part o.g. and generally of fine appearance, few small perf faults, 10/- centred lower left and £3 somewhat toned. Unusual multiples from the August 1889 UPU distribution, much scarcer than multiples from the 1892 distribution of Perf 11½-12½ Reprints (5 pairs) (see phpto)

    Newspaper Wrapper: 1885 ½d Violet, H&G 3a, uprated with ½d Bantam, indistinctly cancelled and used to Egypt. Roughly opened, nevertheless a very scarce destination

    Postal History: 1872 (2 Dec) large cardboard parcel front from Adelaide to Wimborne, Dorset, redirected to Basingstoke, endorsed 'Parcel only Without Letter', bearing 4d and 1/- Perkins, Bacon cancelled 'G.P.O. ADELAIDE'. Toned due to the acidic nature of the cardboard, nevertheless a remarkable early survivor of non-letter rate mail

    1898-1904 selection with OPSO envelope [slightly reduced] from 'Chief Secretary's Office' Adelaide to USA bearing 2½d Violet-blue optd 'OS', 1899 to Canada via San Francisco bearing ½d strip of five tied by Semaphore squared-circle datestamps, and 1904 to Hobart bearing 2d tied by two Petersburg squared-circle datestamps, arrival backstamps (3 covers)
