[7], [9] and [21] plus extra stamps comprising a single [7] and pair [14-15] on Yellowish Wove, four singles [15], [9], [7] (2), a vertical pair [5/15] and two horizontal unplated pairs on bluish wove and unplated singles (11, in various shades) on either hard bluish or hard yellowish paper and an 1852 (27 Mar) cover bearing two singles. This showed the 'O' and 'S' spaced 7mm with [22] on each pane being the variety 8½mm spacing and [28] having a broken 'O'; both these varieties are present in this block. Other than for this piece, there is no evidence for the use of this setting on the 3d value and the block may be of trial status, particularly as it represents a very late use of this 3d printing. 1843 (10 Jul) small wrapper Sydney to Bathurst struck with the framed POST PAID/AT SYDNEY and b/s Sydney GPO datestamp. Rated '9'd for a letter carried 80-120 miles under the 1835 Act. Heavily stained however the letter is endorsed by Thomas Walker (1804-86) member (for Port Philip) of the Legislative Council of NSW and who signed the 1845 petition for separation from NSW. The contents state "...when you have occasion to write to me, address T.W; M.C. and I shall get your letter free of postage....". Also included is photocopy of the NSW Government Gazette with a notice from Sydney GPO dated 11.7.1843 that letters from members of the Legislative Council should have "....M.C. being added to (their) Superscription" to avoid postage. An interesting and direct association to privileged mail plus 1850 (20 Jul) and 1851 (28 May) covers to Raymond Terrace and West Maitland each bearing the CROWN/PAID date handstamps of Sydney GPO (PHNSW Type P5) used for mail postage paid in cash and endorsed 2(d) pre-paid.
