    1852 (16 Jul) cover to Collingwood endorsed 'Per "Waratah" ' bearing Sydney View 3d (strong colour and three huge margins, just touching at base), tied by Sydney obliterator, backstamped on arrival. An attractive example of the 3d intercolonial ship letter rate

    1853 (23 Dec) OHMS printed circular for 'Office of Inspector General of Police' used to the Bench of Magistrates at Brisbane Water (Gosford), bearing Laureate 2d Blue Plate II with stars (frame-lines clear), Sydney backstamp. A difficult stamp on cover

    Estimate: $2,500T Realised Price : $2,800

    1855 (20 Jun) flapless envelope bearing Diadem 1/- destined for Bristol aboard 'Phoenix' which struck a reef in Torres Strait on her maiden voyage and was totally wrecked. Cover with staining and other faults which may be partly attributed to the misadventure. Peace in 'Australasian Wreck Mail' records no surviving mail from this wreck

    1863 (16 Aug) cover to Upper Canada bearing 2d and Diadem 6d (2) tied by rays '160' of Bega, paying the ½d ½oz rate via U.K., backstamped Bega, Sydney, and Drumbo B.C. A little soiled, although scarce origin/destination cover

    Estimate: $1,500T Realised Price : $1,150

    1865 (26 Nov) entire Paris to "Hunter's Hill/near Sydney" bearing 10c, 20c and 40c cancelled by '1' within dots (Paris cds alongside), small framed 'PD' in red, backstamps of Marseilles, Ship Letter Sydney and Hunters Hill arrival. An early inwards tricolour item

    1891 (10 Sep) OHMS cover to Germany franked with overprinted 'OS' 2½d, ½d on 1d block of four and 7½d on 6d cancelled at Sydney, arrival backstamp, minor peripheral faults. An outstanding franking, with these adhesives very rare on cover

    Estimate: $500 Realised Price : $380

    1894 (Feb) use of Brazil 100 reis Envelope to Bathurst, New South Wales, uprated with 200 reis and 100 reis (3 different) stamps, handstamped registration panel and manuscript number. London Registered Paid transit on front, backstamps of Sydney and Bathurst. Fabulous multicolour inwards item

    Estimate: $500T Realised Price : $725

    1899 (29 Nov) use of Postal and Electric Telegraph Dept 'penalty' envelope to U.S.A., bearing ½d and 7½d on 6d tied by 'R' in oval, Registered Sydney cds opposite corner, backstamped on arrival. Attractive example of double rate (5d) plus registration fee. The surcharge is very scarce on cover
