    1882 (21 Aug) cover from Chicago to Melbourne franked with 1875-79 Banknote 5c Brown (2) tied by cork cancels, underpaid for the 12c Australian rate and 'RETURNED/FOR POSTAGE' struck, an additional 2c Vermilion being added on 29 August. With San Francisco transit and Melbourne arrival (OC 23 82) backstamps. Minor creasing and a little toning, however a rare usage

    1889 (1 Jun) cover to New Town, Tasmania, franked with 1881-88 Banknote 2c Green and 10c Brown tied by San Francisco duplexes, backstamped Launceston and New Town arrival cds (JY 3 89). Couple of cover creases at left, otherwise fine
