£1 Rose-lilac and Claret Perf. 12 x 10 from bottom right corner of pane with large part original gum, few gum creases and vertical fold through right selvedge, otherwise very fresh with excellent perforations and unusually well-centred for this stamp. Possibly the finest example of this rare stamp available. Only 18 stamps from this printing were issued for use, and it is unknown in used condition despite the pricing in the catalogue. All mint examples probably derive from a small remainder retained by the Post Office and used for presentation purposes after the States issues became obsolete. SG 242, Cat. £5000
